The client approached us with an unusual ask: can you build me a word search generator that I can use to produce my own custom word search puzzles for print? They had searched far and wide and all of the existing online tools either didn't allow for visual customization or had strict licensing policies.
This was an exciting and very fun request to execute on. We built a quick rapid prototype to confirm that what we could build would meet the client's needs visually and that the image and PDF downloading features met the print requirements. Then we optimized the generator to increase the maximum number of words and characters that could be used in the answer key.
Everything here is built in ReactJS, making for really quick and seamless puzzle generation.
